Job summary

Beam Therapeutics is seeking a highly energetic co-op to join the Quality Control team in Cambridge, USA. The role provides operational, administrative, and laboratory support in a GMP-regulated environment, focusing on PLI readiness, method lifecycle activities, data organization, and quality-system tasks.

You will gain hands-on exposure to analytical methods, participate in reagent tracking, and support documentation for quality events while collaborating with a fast-paced team of scientists.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS or MS in biological sciences or related field (Biochemistry/Biophysics, Cell Biology/Molecular Biology, Chemistry)
• Completed entry level biology, chemistry and biochemistry courses
• Completed of biology, chemistry and biochemistry lab courses
• Knowledge of ICH/USP guidelines is highly desirable
• Must be a team player, comfortable working collaboratively and thriving in a fast-paced environment
• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting college or university program and maintain their student status throughout the duration of the co-op to be eligible

Responsibilities

• Assist in procurement, tracking, and management of reagents and materials.
• Assist with method lifecycle activities, including feasibility runs and troubleshooting of analytical methods and laboratory instruments under supervision.
• Organize, document and archive historical data sets.
• Support quality event documentation (e.g., Deviation, CAPA, Change Control).
• Assist in reviewing data generated by other analysts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Learn about key functions in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, including analytics, stability testing, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.
• Gain hands‑on experience with analytical methods and techniques commonly used in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
