Job summary

Bayer Built Woodworks, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to ensure millwork products consistently meet our high standards.

The role involves inspections, maintaining records, and coordinating with the operations team to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement. This is a full-time Minnesota position with a 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule, offering a pay range of $70,000–$90,000 per year and benefits including health and dental insurance, life and disability

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in quality, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with quality software or ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished millwork products.
• Measure materials with rulers, micrometers, calipers, and templates.
• Audit quality processes for compliance with standards and specifications.
• Document findings and maintain accurate quality records.
• Identify defects and coordinate with teams to resolve issues.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring issues.
• Record data related to inspections and quality metrics.
• Communicate quality information to production staff.
• Assist in internal and external audit preparation.
• Contribute to process-improvement projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performing routine inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished millwork products.
• Examining raw materials, components, and finished goods using measurement tools such as rulers, micrometers, calipers, and templates.
• Auditing quality processes to ensure compliance with company standards and customer specifications.
• Documenting findings and ensuring quality records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
• Identifying defects and deviations from standards, and working with relevant teams to resolve issues.
• Supporting root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for recurring quality issues.
• Recording and maintaining data related to inspections, audits, and quality metrics.
• Communicating clearly with production and operations staff to promote quality awareness.
• Supporting internal audits and assisting in preparing documentation for external audits or inspections.
• Contributing to process improvement initiatives; collaborating with team members on quality-related projects and improvements.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and document product issues.
• Basic understanding of quality standards and inspection techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with quality software or ERP systems a plus.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across teams.
• Comfortable working in a production/warehouse setting and handling millwork materials.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in quality, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or manufacturing environment.
