Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC is seeking a Finance-position-focused individual to monitor the quality of perishable products in the warehouse, enter order information, and perform related duties. This role routinely exercises discretion in daily operations related to product quality control.

The candidate will check slots daily to ensure shipped products meet standards, communicate quality status with relevant teams, and support resolution of quality issues while adhering to safety and sanitation rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Prior warehouse, inventory control or merchandising experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.
• Check produce in slots daily to ensure shipping quality.
• Communicate with stakeholders on product quality status.
• Collaborate with Inventory Control Manager or Compliance Manager and buyers to resolve quality issues.
• Monitor variance reports for spoilage, warehouse and truck damage.
• Inspect inbound freight, warehoused product, and outbound product and document product condition.
• Analyze and propose solutions for problems related to Quality Assurance.
• Observe all safety rules, regulations, and sanitation policies.

JOB SUMMARY

This is a Finance position responsible for monitoring the quality of perishable products in the warehouse on an ongoing basis, inputting order information through data entry while performing other related duties as required. Regularly exercises discretion and in performing duties directly related to the general operation of product quality control.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.

Check produce in slots on a daily basis to make a certain product that is set up for shipping is up to acceptable standards

Communicate regularly with necessary parties on the company’s status on product quality

Communicate with Inventory Control Manager or Compliance Manager and buyers all quality issues and assists them in resolving them to ensure the customer receives the highest quality products possible

Monitor variance reports for accurate accounting of spoilage, warehouse damage, truck damage, etc.

Inspect inbound freight, warehoused product, and/or outbound product and document product condition

Analyze, identify, and propose action to the solution of problems associated with Quality Assurance

Observe all safety rules, regulations, and sanitation policies

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Experience

Prior warehouse, inventory control or merchandising experience.
