Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Quality Control Assembly Inspector to join an on-site team in Oak Ridge, TN and support essential mechanical assemblies in a leading energy and engineering organization.

The role requires a high school diploma with 5 years of hands-on mechanical assembly/inspection experience, familiarity with CMM and GD&T, and the ability to read drawings. Eligible for a government background check and active security clearance may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma + 5 years of experience in mechanical assembly, quality inspection, manufacturing, or related
• Experience with CMM, hands on manufacturing, using measurement equipment, and assembly or dimensional inspection
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and understand basic GD&T principles
• Knowledge of assembly processes, fastener requirements, calibration practices, and quality inspection procedures
• Must be able to pass a government background check and hold an active Top Secret or DOE Q security clearance

• Verify critical dimensions, torque requirements, labeling, traceability, and workmanship against specifications and inspection plans.
• Identify, document, and communicate defects while maintaining accurate quality and compliance records.
• Support calibration activities, measurement system verification, and inspection tool maintenance.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and quality teams to ensure assemblies meet requirements before release and to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The assembly inspector will support advanced manufacturing operations while ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of mission-critical mechanical assemblies.

Compensation of the Assembly Inspector Includes:

• Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000
