Job summary

Silgan Plastics Corporation in Kentucky is seeking a permanent QC Inspector to support line quality and process control. You will perform color checks, test procedures, and hourly inspections while coordinating with production for accurate paperwork and reports.

The role requires basic education and physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds; attention to detail is essential to maintain safety and product standards on the line.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds continuously and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare First Piece Reports for each line running.
  • Conduct ink color checks.
  • Perform all special testing required by procedures.
  • Execute overflows as required.
  • Perform hourly quality checks.
  • Line audit while collecting hourly samples and during free time.
  • Maintain and file spec sheets properly.
  • Audit blank bottle finished goods lines in Production.
  • Daily plant walk through to identify issues (visual).
  • Perform last shot measurement and visual analysis.
  • Ensure information to production floor is correct (Pick lists and stickers).
  • Test and measure on new projects, customer focus training, AVBIS training and new equipment usage.
  • Maintain a safe work environment; inspect work areas for unsafe acts/conditions.
  • Use verbal and written communications effectively.
  • Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary.

  • Qualified back-up QC Inspector or a qualified Packer/Selector if no back-ups are available.
  • Good attendance, demonstrated dependability, good reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds continuously throughout the shift.
  • Capacity for continuous lifting, bending, reaching and twisting.
Special Requirements

Requires cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment with attention to detail. Mechanical aptitude a plus.
