Job summary

Pettibone seeks a hands-on Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager to lead the ongoing improvement and maintenance of our Quality Management System at the Baraga, Michigan site. You will drive quality across manufacturing, supplier quality, and customer concerns.

You will use Lean, Kaizen events, 5S, and root-cause analysis to implement lasting improvements, monitor KPIs, and collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain to elevate safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in quality management or related manufacturing role.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
• Project Management Certification is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of QMS, ISO 9001 standards, and lean quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ongoing improvement and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS), including supplier quality assurance.
• Oversee product quality throughout manufacturing, from incoming materials to finished equipment.
• Identify quality issues, determine root causes, and implement lasting solutions to production, supplier, warranty, and customer concerns.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen events, and employee training.
• Monitor quality performance, track KPIs, and identify opportunities to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Evaluate supplier performance, conduct quality audits, and strengthen inspection processes.
• Lead the equipment testing and final machine checkout team, continuously improving processes and performance.
• Work closely with production, engineering, supply chain, and other teams to solve problems and improve operations.
• Help build a workplace culture where quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement are part of everything we do.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on quality leader who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and working with others to make things better. With a Quality Management System already in place, you'll focus on building upon that foundation—refining processes, strengthening quality practices, and driving meaningful improvements in manufacturing quality and operational efficiency.

What Your Day Looks Like.

What We’re Looking For.

• 10+ years of experience in quality management, a lead manufacturing engineering role, or a related manufacturing role.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is required.
• Project Management Certification is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO 9001 standards, and lean manufacturing quality practices.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root-cause analysis using tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Experience with supplier quality, inspections, audits, and quality performance metrics.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a collaborative, hands‑on approach.
• Proficiency with quality management software and Microsoft Office.
