Job summary

Nippon Paint Automotive Americas, Inc. (NPAA) seeks an experienced QA Specialist to support the QA Team in meeting customer demands and upholding NPAA's position as a market leader in automotive coatings.

You will work on Calibration & GR&R, quality system improvements, and audits across NPAA sites. You will lead internal and supplier audits, train new QA staff, and drive corrective actions, FMEA, APQP, and PPAP activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and

Qualifications

  • College degree in a science-related field required.
  • 2+ years of applicable QA experience.
  • Ability to handle paints and chemicals, including isocyanates, using required PPE.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); advanced skills preferred.
  • Basic AI knowledge for work efficiency.
  • Experience in ISO9001 Quality management System preferred.
  • Desirable: Lean Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure NPAA’s processes and products meet IATF16949 / ISO9001 quality standards at the responsible site.
  • Upgrade and implement the Quality Management System; draft procedures or revise SOPs and train staff.
  • Maintain internal quality audit program and coordinate external audits with customers and third-party certification bodies.
  • Train Internal Auditors on NPAA Quality Systems; manage corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work with Purchasing and other groups to support supplier audits.
  • Complete self-assessment and audit surveys from the customer; assist with customer audits.
  • Assist with other corporate and plant audits as requested.
  • Manage compliance projects at the site (calibration records, document control, MSA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP).
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Teams as a representative of Quality.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Position Summary

This is an experienced position responsible for assisting the QA Team in meeting the customers’ demands and helping ensure that NPAA remains the market leader in automotive coatings. This team member performs Calibration & GR&R, maintain / improve NPAA quality management system across all NPAA sites, manage internal audits and supplier audits as well as support customer audit on each site, and lead compliance and quality improvement project at all NPAA site. This position is building key customer/supplier and strong interdepartmental relationships within NPAA. The Specialist also provides QA training for new hires and associate QA specialist.

Position Responsibilities
  • Ensures NPAA’s processes and products are compliant with IATF16949 / ISO9001 Quality standard and requirements at the responsible site.
  • Upgrades and implements Quality Management System, drafting procedures or revising existing SOPs and training employees for proper adoption of new system requirements or assists with other departments updating SOPs.
  • Maintain and organize NPAA’s internal quality audit program and external audits with customers and third-party certification and regulatory bodies.
    • Schedules Internal Audits.
    • Schedules audits with Registrar
    • Schedules, conducts, or manages the sample audit.
    • Reports on Audit Findings and assists with the corrective actions.
    • Train Internal Auditors on NPAA Quality Systems.
    • Manage corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Work with Purchasing and other groups to support with the supplier audit.
  • Complete self-assessment and audit surveys from the customer
  • Assists with any customer requested audits and special audits at the responsible site.
  • Assists with other corporate and plant audits when requested.
  • Manage the compliance projects at the responsible site with help from other members or groups, including
    • Managing NPAA Calibration activities and records.
    • Managing NPAA document control system.
    • Managing, conducting, or assisting with MSA evaluations on NPAA inspection methods.
    • Assisting with FMEA, APQP, and PPAP.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Teams as a representative of the Quality department.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Audit Schedule – IATF16949 / ISO9001
  • Formal Audit Report
