Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a Quality Clinic Lead to oversee customer complaints, perform root cause investigations, and support the Quality Manager in enhancing the Quality Management System. This onsite Eastford, CT role requires coordinating with multiple teams to assure product quality and timely corrective actions.

The ideal candidate will manage non-conformances, lead DIVE/MRB activities, and mentor inspectors while promoting lean practices and customer satisfaction across manufacturing

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years quality and/or manufacturing experience.
  • 1 year of inspection experience.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process all customer returned product.
  • Manage customer escapes and complaints.
  • Acquire access to customer portals and manage non-conformances.
  • Lead root cause and corrective actions for escapes (DIVE).
  • Lead MRB activities and support work centers for top scrap.
  • Manage internal CAR Log, CAR process, and train new users.
  • Manage NMR editing and NMR permissions; train users.
  • Generate and communicate One Point Lessons and Quality Alerts.
  • Run weekly quality meetings with escape info and lessons learned.
  • Train new inspectors on quality clinic modules.
  • Communicate customer escape activity and complaints to management.
  • Drive quality into unit flow lines and inspection stations.
  • Drive systemic corrective actions for the quality management system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality/delivery issues.
  • Submit FAIRs and eQN’s as needed.

About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Clinic Lead will be responsible for managing internal and external customer complaints and findings. Perform investigations and determine root cause/corrective action. Support the Quality Manager while improving the effectiveness of the Quality Management System. Ensure that the voice of the customer is understood and systems are in place to control manufacturing processes within a lean environment that will improve customer satisfaction while minimizing non-value-added activity.

Location:Eastford, CT - Onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Process all customer returned product
  • Manage customer escapes and complaints
  • Acquire access to customer portals, manage non-conformances as necessary, respond appropriately to customer inquiries and follow up on due dates for corrective actions
  • Lead DIVE activities to find root cause and corrective/preventative actions for escapes
  • Lead MRB activities and support work centers to find root cause and corrective/preventative actions for top scrap
  • Manage internal CAR Log, CAR process, and train new users
  • Manage NMR editing, NMR authority permission and train authorized NMR users
  • Generate and communicate One Point Lessons and Quality Alerts as necessary
  • Manage weekly quality meetings with escape information, lessons learned from escapes, internal findings, and training working with EHS and BUMs for department information
  • Train new inspectors on quality clinic modules
  • Communicate current customer escape activity and complaints to management
  • Drive quality into unit flow lines and inspection stations based on lessons learned and best practices
  • Drive systemic corrective actions for the quality management system including read across corrective actions on applicable impacted product
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting quality and delivery on identified product
  • Submit FAIRs and eQN’s as needed to support the shop
  • Obtain DPRV certification for top customers to support shipping as a 2 nd resource
  • Make informed decisions related to product quality and next steps
  • Capable of communicating with all levels of the organization such as Operators, Engineers, Leads, Planners, Management, etc.
  • Promote quality by mentoring colleagues and less experienced employees
  • Observe all Company policies, rules, and regulations including good housekeeping, safety and security.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School or equivalent
  • Three (3) years quality and/or manufacturing experience
  • One (1) year of inspection experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or related technical degree
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints, engineering sketches, and technical documents to determine appropriate measurement methods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Previous Quality Engineering experience
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Clear communication (oral and written) skills
  • Ability to keep accurate records

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
