Job summary

Fisher Investments is seeking a Quality Automation Engineer to design and implement automation frameworks that become the foundation of our delivery pipeline. You will collaborate with QA/QE, DevOps, and development teams to drive automated testing, data management, and continuous delivery strategies.

You will build robust test automation, configure QE tools, and advocate best practices across technology groups, ensuring security and audit compliance while improving operational stability.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce and software testing/automation.
  • Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and Atlassian tools.
  • Experience with various SDLC methodologies, especially Agile.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver automation frameworks with a quality focus.
  • Develop QE tools to improve development efficiency and stability.
  • Promote test automation, performance testing, and test data management.
  • Define QE processes, standards, and roadmaps for long-term architecture.

  • Create and manage test plans, cases, and data.
  • Evaluate product features against specifications and results.

Job description

The Opportunity:

The Quality Automation Engineer will have responsibilities including partnering with QA/QE, DevOps, Functional and Integration teams to define, design, and build or modify the automation framework. You will create a robust set of automation tests to result in a deep and flexible set of tests that become the primary foundation of continuous delivery testing. You will maintain these frameworks by following the current standards and coordinating test execution, training users, and providing user support. You will be reporting to the Application Development Team Lead.

The Day-to-Day:
  • Design and deliver automation and automation framework for products with a quality approach
  • Design, develop, and configure QE tools to lead application development efficiencies and improve operational stability of the applications that adhere to security and audit systems
  • Foster the adoption of Test automation, Performance and Test data management tools and capabilities across Technology groups
  • Work with Quality Engineering, App Dev Team Leads to define Quality Engineering processes, standards, tools, best practices, execution strategies, roadmaps to connect current designs to long-term architecture
  • Collaborate and implement strategies for DevOps and Integration teams to integrate Test automation suites as part of the CI/CD frameworks
  • Meticulously examine and evaluate our software applications to identify potential issues, defects or inconsistencies affecting the end-user experience
  • Work closely & collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, scrum masters & devops throughout the development lifecycle
  • Learn and understand business processes
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies
  • Review requirements to understand testing needs
  • Create, managing, analyzing and using test plans & test cases
  • Create & managing test data for test cases
  • Evaluate product features and functionality according to specifications
  • Analyze testing results
  • Identify, documenting and reporting software defects
  • Bug & defect tracking
  • Schedule & coordinating test execution
  • Leverage quality engineering tools to guide application development efficiencies and improve operational stability of the applications
  • Develop scripts and processes to increase automation of testing and adherence to security and audit systems and controls
  • Support automation of various testing activities across the enterprise
  • Must adapt quickly to new technologies, tools, and methodologies as the software development landscape evolves
Your Qualifications:

3+ years' experience:

  • Salesforce
  • Software testing and test automation of web and API-based solutions
  • Automation and test data management tools such as Test Complete Pro, Ready API, NeoLoad, GenRocket, and Zephyr Scale
  • Test applications developed in various SDLC methodologies like Agile
  • Build and maintain the test automation frameworks
  • DevOps tools, such as Github, Jenkins, or Splunk
  • Scripting languages like Shell Scripting, Groovy, Python, Java, or JavaScript, and Atlassian tools like JIRA or Confluence

2+ years' experience:

  • Implement BDD/TDD and relevant toolsets
  • Relational database management skills like MSSQL, MySQL, SQL, Postgres or MongoDB
  • Integrate test automation frameworks with DevOps pipelines in private cloud and public cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, Google or Amazon AWS cloud services
  • Regulated industry experience; financial services experience
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, computer science, or a related field required; advanced degree in a related field

Ability to:

  • Train IT product delivery teams and motivate peers on the proper use of Automation frameworks, Test Data Management tools and capabilities
  • Present to managers, technology, and business partners
Compensation:
  • $85,000 - $135,000 base salary per year in the state of WA - New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experience
  • Eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance
