Bechtel is seeking a Quality Auditor Specialist to support the implementation and audit activities of the project Quality Management System (QMS) on a major construction site in Chandler, AZ. You will review quality requirements, monitor non-conformances, and determine the sufficiency of corrective actions to mitigate performance risk.

Requires a bachelor's degree and 8–10 years of relevant experience (or 12–14 years).

Project Overview

Fab 62 is an advanced semiconductor fabrication facility for Intel Corporation, located at Intel's Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona. As part of this work, the M&T team is responsible for delivering the engineering, procurement, and construction scope required to complete and finish-out a leading-edge chipmaking facility — a highly demanding environment where precision, cleanliness, schedule certainty, and coordination across thousands of craft and professional personnel are essential to success. The project supports the continued expansion of domestic semiconductor manufacturing capacity, contributing to a more resilient technology supply chain while creating significant opportunity for the local Arizona workforce. Joining the Fab 62 team means contributing directly to one of the most strategically important construction efforts in the United States and helping deliver the infrastructure behind the next generation of microelectronics.

Job Summary

A Quality Auditor Specialist role on a major construction project you will support the implementation and audit activities of the project Quality Management System (QMS). You will review and determine applicable project quality requirements, report new or revised regulatory requirements, monitor non-conforming conditions, and determine the sufficiency of corrective actions. Your recommendations will assist in the resolution of complex issues and mitigate performance risk.

Major Responsibilities

• Performs the role of Quality Auditor Specialist on a project
• Supports the preparation of the annual project Audit Schedule
• Prepares Audit reports; performs audit completion report-outs as required
• Prepare and complete quality audit plans, checklists, and conduct quality audits of project Quality Management System (QMS), Project Quality Plan (PQP), and procedures for direct hire and subcontractor scopes of work, including, pre-award assessments of potential suppliers and subcontractors
• Audits and monitors Functions on project, including project management, engineering, procurement, construction, project controls, commissioning, and startup
• Reviews and monitors nonconforming conditions and associated corrective actions to ensure QMS compliance
• Reviews and reports on project associated quality-related procedures and manuals for compliance with project contract quality requirements, procedures, and design requirements
• Identifies non-compliances and problems, initiates documented action and verifies implementation of solutions
• Prepare reports on the effectiveness of the QMS, PQP, and Project Execution Plan (PEP) implementation
• Participates in the project auditing and monitoring program to verify the effectiveness of the project QMS
• Reviews project schedules for quality related activities to ensure timely and effective implementation of the PQP requirements
• Supports causal analysis in conjunction with other project personnel

Education And Experience Requirements

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001 standard requirements
• Demonstrated experience in leading assessments throughout their full life cycle
• Extensive knowledge of Quality Assurance Requirements, and their application to construction, engineering, acquisition services, supplier quality, materials management, and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated proficiency in implementation of quality assurance programs
• Demonstrated knowledge of EPC industry application of quality assurance standards
• Knowledge of advanced techniques for assessment, event investigation, cause analysis, human performance, and corrective action
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup
• Demonstrated knowledge of current construction industry trends, innovations, and regulatory requirements
• Successful track record of leading audits
• Demonstrated Auditor certification
• Previous experience in executing quality assessment programs related to industrial construction
• Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities
• Ability to work efficiently and with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to work with people from varied backgrounds and perspectives
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite of tools.
