Job summary

Borusan Pipe U.S., Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Auditor-Slitter/Mill to continuously monitor manufacturing processes and lead the Quality Team on daily operations to ensure specifications are met.

The role emphasizes auditing, non-conformance reporting, and corrective actions, with responsibility for communicating defect analyses to operations and ensuring product conformity to API/Customer specifications. A detail-oriented, collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years in quality control (mill related experience preferred).
• Training in Ultrasonic and Quality; Level 1 or Level 2 UT certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of API, ASTM, and ISO requirements.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word; ability to learn new software.
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; solid arithmetic and computer skills.
• Ability to work with flexible/rotating schedule and overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Reporting and investigating Non-conformances and Corrective actions.
• Helping problem solve issues that arise.
• Assist in all quality roles when necessary and ensure all material processed conforms to API/Customer specifications.
• Maintain knowledge of Borusan Pipe U.S. SOPs.
• Responsible for all quality operations.
• Ensure feedback of defect analysis to operation team.
• Evaluate control features/process recipes for different suppliers.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and complete data inputs by quality personnel.
• Open communication with department supervisors and managers.
• Monthly reporting of quality performance.
• Facilitate quality training and progress.
• Communicate with quality, operations, and any third parties present.
• Follow PPE policies and safety rules.
• Supports HSE-related programs to promote safety culture.
• Daily auditing of processes.
• Verify calibrations and equipment condition against standards.
• Verify inspection reports in MES.
• May operate Forklift, Torch, Overhead Crane.
• Maintain good housekeeping.
• Problem solving of quality issues.
• Ensure proper procedures and paperwork are used.
• Conduct daily safety toolbox meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Quality Assurance Auditor-Slitter/Mill is responsible for continuously monitoring manufacturing process to ensure compliance of specifications. Leads the Quality Team members on daily operational duties, ensuring the proper use of equipment and materials to maximize productivity.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

1. Qualifications:

• 1.1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1.2. Minimum of two years of working experience in quality control field (mill related preferred).
• 1.3. Training in Ultrasonic and Quality. Level 1 or Level 2 UT certification is a plus.
• 1.4. Knowledgeable experience with the latest editions of API, ASTM, and ISO requirements.
• 1.5. Knowledge of excel and word document and the ability to learn new software applications.
• 1.6. Visibility of work requires attention to detail, good organizational skills.
• 1.7. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and solid arithmetic and computer skills.
• 1.8. Employee must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time when needed.

2. Responsibilities:

• 2.1. Reporting and investigating Non-conformances and Corrective actions.
• 2.2. Helping problem solve issues that arise.
• 2.3. Secondary function is to assist in all quality roles when necessary and ensuring all material that is processed by BPU conforms to API/Customer specifications.
• 2.4. Current knowledge and understanding of all relevant Borusan Pipe U.S. SOP’s.
• 2.5. Responsible for all quality operations.
• 2.6. Responsible for ensuring the operation team receives feedback of defect analysis.
• 2.7. Evaluating control features/process recipes for different suppliers.
• 2.8. Ensure Data inputs by quality personnel are accurate, on time and complete.
• 2.9. Open communication with all department supervisors and managers.
• 2.10. Monthly reporting of quality performance.
• 2.11. Helping facilitate all quality training and progress.
• 2.12. Communicate and cooperate with quality, operations, and any third-party that may be present.
• 2.13. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
• 2.14. Supports HSE-related programs that will increase awareness and promote a safety culture.

3. Activities:

• 3.1. Daily auditing of processes.
• 3.2. Verify calibrations, working condition of measuring equipment against standards, and perform calibrations.
• 3.3. Verify the inspection reports prepared in MES.
• 3.5. This position may require operating a Forklift, Torch, Overhead Crane.
• 3.6. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area.
• 3.7. Problem solving of quality issues.
• 3.8. Ensure proper procedures are being followed and appropriate paperwork is being utilized.
• 3.9. Conduct daily safety toolbox meetings.
• 3.10. Other duties as assigned.

4. Authority and Obligation:

• 4.1. This position has the authority to stop operations in cases of Safety and/or Quality being in question.
