Job summary

Donaldson Company is seeking a Quality role in Greeneville, TN to inspect materials, conduct audits of finished goods, and maintain calibration and documentation systems. The incumbent will collaborate with production and leadership to resolve issues, ensure safety, and uphold quality standards.

The role requires reading prints, using lab equipment, and maintaining accurate records in a team environment with regular attendance. ISO/IATF certifications are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

  • A combination of education and experience, generally acquired through the attainment of a high school diploma, or equivalent.

  • Read prints/engineering drawings/standards and route sheets
  • Learn the use of common inspection tools through sophisticated lab equipment
  • Work effectively with limited supervision
  • Make sound decisions

  • Provide and maintain a safety first culture and adhere to safety procedures
  • Work effectively in Microsoft Office computer programs

  • Maintain a pattern of regular and predictable attendance

Responsibilities

  • Use and maintain laboratory and test equipment to determine the physical and chemical characteristics of materials for conformance
  • Perform finished goods audits of manufactured products at established frequencies, or as requested, for certification. This includes dimensional, cleanliness, appearance, and packaging checks of randomly selected products
  • Initiate non-conformance reports as needed
  • Perform containment on suspect materials as requested
  • Maintain tool calibration system in conjunction with Quality staff
  • Maintain inspection documentation for Quality with up-to-date information
  • Identify and disposition non-conforming material in real time to support production
  • Act as a liaison between production and leadership to resolve issues that may arise within the process
  • Maintain complete and accurate administrative records in support of the department
  • Use all designated Personal Protective Equipment as required

Essential Functions (Quality)
  • Use and maintain laboratory and test equipment to determine the physical and chemical characteristics of materials for conformance

Essential Functions (Safety)
  • Perform safety audits and reinforce the safety culture on the off shifts
  • Respond to and take the lead on any safety critical items
  • Establish safety committee for off shift employees in support of EHS framework
  • Create safety standardized documents for production and support functions
  • Conduct safety training with new employees, current employees, visitors and contractors
  • Track safety initiatives scheduled on regulatory compliance calendars
  • Support incident investigations
  • Support corrective action planning and implementation
  • Communicate safety incidents through company software systems
