Job summary

Flex is seeking a Quality Auditor to support Salt Lake City operations. The role involves reviewing, analyzing, and initiating actions to improve the manufacturing process and ensure conformance to quality standards.

Under close supervision, the auditor inspects electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, components and parts, using gauges, templates, and microscopes to verify specifications and monitor quality metrics.

Qualifications

  • Experience with audit techniques and quality improvements.
  • Knowledge of ISO, ESD, and calibration requirements.
  • Experience with Layers Process Audits (LPA).
  • Ability to read schematics and understand electronic assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections of servers, racks, and components.
  • Use gauges, templates, microscopes to verify specs.
  • Ensure processes pass Quality station checks.
  • Monitor and report quality metrics.
  • Prepare reject reports and notify stakeholders.
  • Assist disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Notify personnel of defects or yield issues.
  • Conduct process audits and support manufacturing.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Quality Auditor located in Salt Lake City, UT.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Auditor role involves reviewing, analyzing, and initiating actions as needed to improve the manufacturing process. Ensure that all processes comply with the necessary quality standards and procedures. Under close supervision inspects electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, components and parts for conformance to specifications.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Perform visual inspections of servers, racks, and components to ensure compliance with established reliability and workmanship specifications.
  • Utilize gauges, templates, microscopes, and other manufacturing aids to verify product specifications.
  • Ensure all required process operations are completed on inspected products at Quality stations.
  • Monitor and report quality metrics to meet business needs.
  • Prepare reject reports by identifying necessary follow-up information and notifying involved parties.
  • Assist with the disposition of non-conforming materials and products.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of unusual product defects or process yields falling below acceptable levels.
  • Conduct process audits and assist manufacturing in interpreting quality and workmanship standards.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
  • Demonstrates advanced functional skills, which may be used to conduct on-the-job training and lead/guide other employees.
  • Demonstrates detailed functional knowledge of audit techniques and has input to process improvements.
  • Knowledge of all ISO, ESD, and calibration requirements.
  • Knowledge of how to conduct an LPA (layers process audits).
  • Electronic Assembly: component, schematics, mechanical assembly, surface mount assembly;
  • Inspection: bare board, components, cable, harness, microscope, measuring tools;
  • Office Skills: Computers and tablets. Office software to include, word-processing, speadsheets, and presentation packages.
  • Ability to speak and understand English.
  • Ability to use ladders.
  • Ability to push and pull 40lbs, lift 20 lbs.
