Job summary

Western Industries Plastic Products, LLC in Winfield, IL seeks a Quality Auditor to verify product conformance, approve conforming parts, and reject nonconforming items throughout production. You’ll support R&D dimension/testing activities and provide updates to QA and Manufacturing Leadership.

The role requires experience reading blueprints, tolerances, and performing precision measurements with calipers, micrometers, and related tools.

Qualifications

  • Must read and interpret blueprints and tolerances.
  • Ability to verify color match by visual inspection.
  • Proficient with quality gauging tools and measurement equipment.
  • Strong math skills including fractions and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Review specifications, blueprints, and notes to ensure product conformity.
  • Perform quality audits throughout production and prior to shipment.
  • Approve or reject products based on inspections and documentation.
  • Communicate findings to manufacturing and management.
  • Complete required paperwork and electronic QA records.

Job description

2nd shift – 4:00pm - 12:00am (weekends & overtime as needed)Competitive Pay Based Off ExperienceOur Quality Auditor verifies conformance of product to specifications for each part, approving conforming parts for shipping & delivery or rejecting nonconforming parts for scrap. The auditor gives first part approvals and conducts in-process audits and throughout production, providing updates to Quality & Manufacturing Management as needed. Supports R&D activities regarding dimension testing, fit, and functions tests, as well as cosmetic audits.Summary of Job DutiesReview specifications, blueprints, work directions, and manufacturing notes in the Quality Specification book for each product being produced.Perform assigned quality audits throughout production, assembly and prior to shipment of product to maintain the required QS standards.Conduct quality control inspections regarding weight, color, and measurements on product being produced.Approve product after inspection to continue through the production process or reject product for changes and modifications until quality specifications are met to be able to continue in production.Communicate timely and professionally with other departments, supervisors and management teams to ensure quality standards of all products.Complete required written and electronic paperwork and documentation.Work EnvironmentThis position operates in both office and manufacturing environments that are non-climate controlled. Moderate to loud noise levels that require associates to wear hearing protection. Fast-paced team environment with interruptions and ongoing problem solving.Physical DemandsOccasional climbing, stooping, & crouching. Standing for 8 or more hours per day and walking frequently. Pushing, pulling, gasping with repetitive motions frequently. Lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs. Ability to use tools, and other industrial equipment.
