Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a first shift Quality Inspector at our distribution center in Rural Hall, NC. You will perform first line inspections of received products, ensuring adherence to quality specs and accurate case identification.

The role requires basic math skills, ability to use gauges, strong attention to detail, and reliable attendance. Overtime and ability to work at satellite facilities may be necessary.

Job description

This is a 1st shift position responsible for providing first line inspection to product received at the distribution center, ensuring quality specifications adhere to company standards and insure finished goods are identified according to standard. This position is responsible for keeping records of audits.

• Verify that product’s physical appearance meets company specifications using gages and other quality equipment.
• Reject products not meeting specifications.
• Mark items in error with details such as product needing review.
• Document all audit information.
• Notify supervisor of problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
• Identify nonconforming product and report to management and Production Control.
• Adhere to the Quality Policy and expectations.
• Perform other duties assigned.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Read, write, add subtract, multiply and divide – understand implied instructions.
• Excellent attendance is required.
• Good communication skills required.
• Ability to learn and comprehend distribution/production business is required.
• Familiarization of styles, sizes and UPC
• Familiarization of case IDs
• Ability to adapt to changing procedures, policies and work environment.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Must be able to work overtime and at satellite facilities when needed.
• Must be able to work safely in a fast paced team environment.

Lifting and carrying is required occasionally throughout the work day at an average pace. Items lifted/carried- empty pallets, cases/supplies, motors, some in strained positions.
