Job summary

Primex in New Jersey is seeking a full-time Quality Inspector to monitor raw materials and finished goods, ensure conformance to specifications, and segregate nonconforming product. You will perform inspections, operate lab equipment, and participate in corrective actions to meet customer expectations.

The role requires fluency in English, basic math, and proficiency with a tape measure and micrometer, plus knowledge of SPC and capability studies. Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Focus on improving the quality process.
• Record variances of the quality process.
• Conduct and record inspections as per procedure.
• Ensure required SPC activities are completed as required.
• Participate in corrective action activities.
• Pay attention to Quality Alert orders.
• Operate lab equipment, including the spectrophotometer.
• Train manufacturing personnel various inspection/testing/quality system aspects.
• Serve on the internal audit team as required.

Job description

Monitors the quality of raw materials and finished goods, confirming conformance to specifications and the quality plan. Identifies substandard product, discusses issues with operators/supervision, confirms correction & ensures generated nonconforming product is segregated from acceptable product. Perform quality inspections/tests to required specifications in order to meet or exceed Primex's and the Customers Expectations.

Full-time, 40 hours/week some overtime required, in a hot work environment, receiving two paid 10-minute breaks and one paid 20-minute lunch.

Skill Requirements: Possess a good working knowledge of company quality standards. A self-starter, highly motivated individual with good written and oral communication skills and must be fluent in English. Basic knowledge in math, fractions, percentage, decimals. Must be proficient in using a tape measure & micrometer. A working knowledge of SPC and capability studies.
