Job summary

Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure products meet quality, safety, and compliance standards.

You will conduct in-process, first-article, and final inspections, review drawings, and document results to support defect prevention and continuous improvement. You will work with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues, verify revision levels, and use ERP systems to record data and maintain records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in electrical equipment or switchgear production.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and documentation practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, first-article, and final inspections using measurement tools and inspection equipment.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to verify product conformity.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed quality records.

Job Summary

A Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet established standards of quality, safety, and compliance before they move forward in the production process or ship to customers. This role performs detailed inspections using measurement tools, reviews drawings and specifications, and documents results with accuracy and consistency. Quality Inspectors identify defects, communicate nonconformances, and work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process, first-article, and final inspections using measurement tools and inspection equipment.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to verify product conformity.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed quality records.
  • Identify nonconformances and communicate issues to production, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Verify revision levels on drawings, BOMs, and documentation before inspection.
  • Support root‑cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Monitor product quality throughout production to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Use ERP systems to record inspection data, update job status, and attach documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized inspection area and follow all quality procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce defect.
Required Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in electrical equipment or switchgear/switchboard production.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and documentation practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Additional Skills and Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor) and quality management software is a plus.
