Job summary

IRIS Consulting LLC is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to provide test planning, design, execution, and defect management for our Financial Functions IS team. The role emphasizes collaboration with analysts, developers, project leadership, and business SMEs to ensure accurate financial calculations and reliable project delivery.

You will develop test strategies, design test cases, coordinate testing across sprints, and guide entry/exit criteria for stabilization and UAT.

Qualifications

• Experience in QA lifecycle including planning, design, execution, and defect tracking.
• Ability to validate complex financial rules and business processes.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain the overall test strategy and approach for assigned project work.
• Partner with analysts, developers, project leadership, and business SMEs to identify testing scope and clarify requirements.
• Develop project test plans, test designs, test scenario matrices, and test scripts.
• Facilitate and participate in peer reviews of test plans, test designs, and test scripts with analysts and SMEs.
• Execute testing activities throughout development sprints and stabilization, balancing testing responsibilities with SMEs and analysts.
• Perform and coordinate functional, non-functional, integration, reporting, regression, end-to-end, stabilization, and UAT testing activities.
• Identify, document, communicate, and track defects, observations, risks, and quality concerns.
• Provide feedback on requirements, design, and other project deliverables to identify missing, conflicting, or unclear information prior to testing.
• Oversee testing events, including task completion, schedule adherence, and defect management tracking.
• Define and obtain agreement on entry and exit criteria for stabilization, UAT, and production readiness.
• Summarize and report test results to project stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement of quality practices across the project team.

Job description

This role will provide Quality Assurance support for our Financial Functions IS team, with a primary focus on test planning, test design, test execution, defect management, and quality validation for project delivery. Analysis skills are a strong plus, as the consultant will be expected to collaborate closely with analysts, developers, project leadership, and business subject matter experts to understand requirements, identify test scope, validate financial calculations and transactions, and communicate quality risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience in Quality Assurance, including test strategy, test planning, test design, test execution, and defect management.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with analysts, developers, project managers, and business SMEs.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly summarize testing progress, results, risks, and quality concerns.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to validate complex business rules, financial transactions, calculations, and business processes.
• Ability to contribute to additional project activities as capacity allows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Business analysis experience or demonstrated ability to review and provide feedback on requirements and solution designs.
• Experience with insurance, financial systems, reinsurance, or financial operations.
• Experience supporting UAT, stabilization, production readiness, and cross-functional testing events.
