Quality Assurance Technician (Weekend nights 12 hour shifts)

Quality Assurance Technician
Shift Available: 6pm-6am Saturday, Sunday and Monday
Pay: Starting at $20 per hour plus 1.25 differential

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you are an essential team member responsible for monitoring all quality assurance and food safety activities, and carrying out corrections for improving quality departmental functions. You will test and inspect products at various stages of the production process. You will compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

What will you get to do?

  • Provide support to the Quality Assurance Management team.
  • Achieve quality assurance operational objectives.
  • Perform tests at specified stages in the production process. Test products for a variety of qualities such as temperature, defects, code dates, etc., record results, review records and reports for accuracy and completion.
  • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Complete special projects assigned.
  • Quality analysis of incoming dry goods for production. Verification of specifications before startup and throughout production processes.
  • Problem solving on quality issues with production and other teams.
  • Documentation of key metrics for data analysis. Maintenance of calibration and logs of all laboratory instruments.
  • General analysis and sampling of production samples. Collection of retention samples.

Experience that will help you succeed

  • Basic understanding of quality assurance standards and protocols.
  • Food Safety & documentation experience
  • Previous experience in similar role, with specific types of testing (manual, automated, performance) relevant to the industry
  • Familiarity with the 4 points of QA
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Food/Beverage manufacturing experience a bonus
