Job summary

Publix Super Markets seeks a Quality Assurance & Food Safety-focused individual to join our Manufacturing department in Georgia. You will perform microbiological tests, fat analysis, and full milk/product analyses, while upholding GMPs and communicating results to managers and associates.

You will maintain records, generate lab reports for regulatory bodies, and support process improvements across the facility. A two-year dairy/microbiology degree or related lab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must obtain lab certification by state and/or FDA.
• Must be able to taste and evaluate all products.
• Must have analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must demonstrate safe working habits.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to learn and perform all positions.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have good human relations skills and teamwork.
• Must follow detailed written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform raw, intermediate, and finished milk and product analysis.
• Perform microbiological tests and fat composition testing.
• Inspect plant and uphold GMPs.
• Provide accurate information to department managers.
• Keep records and document test results.
• Create and communicate laboratory reports for regulatory agencies and Publix associates.
• Assist teams in applying information for process improvement and resolving quality issues.
• Perform environment tests and flavoring product tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
