Job description

Quality Assurance Inspector I

We are currently looking for:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector based in Allendale, SC. Reporting to the Quality Lead, this role involves maintaining product quality through testing finished products to meet quality control specifications. Responsibilities include testing raw materials for quality, density, and flow, and making necessary adjustments to the production process.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent.

What you'll do:
  • Calculate and record target, actual, and theoretical weights of finished products daily.
  • Produce daily production reports.
  • Check samples of produced pipes for quality control.
  • Conduct weekly color inventory and mix special color orders as needed.
  • Perform ash, burst, and tensile strength tests.
  • Communicate testing results to supervisors for production adjustments.
  • Unload trucks using a forklift as needed.
  • Verify inventory of finished products to meet customer demands.
  • Initiate inventory processes to support workflow.
  • Use computer systems to track inventory, colors, shipments, and testing records.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and complete necessary paperwork for inventory transactions.
  • Perform monthly visual checks of resin levels in silos, using safety harnesses when using ladders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll bring:
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Basic math skills and ability to measure accurately
  • Forklift operation skills
  • Experience with quality control testing equipment
  • Ability to operate power tools (Table saw, Jig saw, Dremel)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Within 3 months, you'll:
  • Complete required training
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Understand Atkore's Business System and your role's impact on operations
