Job summary

Ellwood Group Inc. in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join the Quality Assurance Department with possible assignments to Corry/Warren plants. This non-exempt role includes overtime as needed.

You will perform nondestructive and destructive tests, prepare test reports, calibrate equipment, and assist customers and auditors. Travel to subcontractors or customers may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Problem solving skills, verbal and written communication skills, and good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well with a team, while also working independently; self-motivated.
• Detail oriented with demonstrated work history record.
• Good organizational skills, able to think on their own, takes initiative while multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare product for nondestructive testing and post-test cleaning.
• Perform Ultrasonic, Visual, Magnetic Particle, and Liquid Penetrant Testing.
• Perform Hardness Testing.
• Conduct metallographic and related laboratory testing.
• Inspect dimensions including CMM-based methods.
• Prepare test reports for customer review.
• Maintain calibration records and material certification.
• Calibrate testing equipment.
• Train others in NDT and dimensional inspection methods.
• Assist customer auditors.
• Travel to subcontractor or customer locations as needed.
• Attend scheduled work shifts; overtime may be required.
