A leading company in the food industry is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician I to support their Food Safety and Quality Program. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of documented work experience or equivalent educational experience.
  • Food manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections on materials and equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct tests for raw materials and perform quality assurance checks.
  • Communicate food safety or quality issues to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Monday-Friday 2pm-10:30pm

Responsible for performing Quality Assurance tasks and duties in a food manufacturing environment to support the execution of Red Monkey Foods’ Food Safety and Food Quality Program

  • Safety. Works in a safe manner. Complies with safe work practices at all times. Reports unsafe conditions or situation to supervisor or management.
  • Production, Equipment, and Facilities Tasks. Performs regular inspections on raw materials, equipment and manufacturing areas to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety and Food Quality standards.
  • Performs Pre-Op/Post-Op Inspections and Release of blending production rooms
  • Inspections of incoming materials/trucks
  • Communicates any food safety or food quality issues to Quality Assurance Supervisor
  • Verifies all components for blending are staged properly.
  • Ensures compliance with SOPs, sSops, GMPs and other required regulatory processes.
  • Quality Assurance Tasks. Uses accepted procedures and processes to test raw materials, and facilities to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Performs ATP/allergen/sanitation effectiveness swabbing and assists in environmental swabbing as needed.
  • Performs Aerobic Plate count testing, interpretation, and logging for Sanitation Effectiveness
  • Responsible for raw material sampling and inspection
  • Performs raw material testing, including bulk density, particle size, organoleptic evaluations for all raw materials and blends.
  • Responsible for release of raw materials and blending
  • Identifies and addresses all issues with foreign objects, and Sanitation
  • Perform regular Food Quality and Food Safety Checks, including metal detector and scale checks
  • Performs additional Quality checks as required per SOPs.
  • Manage and maintain raw material and blending sample retains and controls
  • Produce and maintain reports, such as the Quarantine Report, End of Shift report, and Open Purchase Order report.
  • Participates in Disposition process on raw materials and finished goods and associated documentation
  • Performs inspections and create rework documentation as needed for Food Safety or Food Quality
  • Participates in Request For Quote (RFQ) evaluations, testing, and documentation review
  • Verifies product documentation. Inspects and reviews raw material and blending documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and Red Monkey Foods quality standards.
  • Reviews Supplier and 3 rd party laboratory Certificate of Analyses to verify accuracy and completeness against Red Monkey Food Specifications
  • Reviews blending batch tickets to verify accuracy and completeness. Verifies Bill of Materials against Batch Tickets. Conducts blending reviews, visual releases and approvals.
  • Create Certificates of Analysis per customer requirements and reques

Shift Hours 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm

Shift Hours 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 2pm-10:30pm

Education And Experience Required

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent, prefer associate's degree in technical or scientific field
  • 2 years of documented work experience or equivalent educational experience required.
  • Prefer food manufacturing experience

Skills, Knowledge And Abilities Required

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory processes and procedures
  • Effective computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have good organizational and planning skills

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is required to stand, walk, use of hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally including overhead
  • The employee is required to perform organoleptic evaluations, requiring the ability to distinguish colors, smell, and taste.
