Quality Assurance Technician I - 12 Hr Overnight Weekend Shift

Join Rise Baking Company as a Quality Assurance Technician I - 12 Hr Overnight Weekend Shift.

Pay Range: $21.00/hr - $23.25/hr (based on skills and experience)

Job Purpose

Assist in implementing and supporting company standards to meet quality specifications for packaging, raw ingredients, and finished products, ensuring food safety and quality are upheld. Monitor and sample quality control plans and process control procedures to ensure production standards are met.

Essential Functions
  • Perform daily QA walk-throughs and verify GMP compliance
  • Monitor plant operations for sanitary procedures
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections for food safety and quality
  • Manage hold processes for non-conforming products and materials
  • Verify batch formulas and labels for compliance
  • Monitor CCPs and preventive controls
  • Perform equipment calibration and basic testing
  • Conduct environmental swabbing and testing for allergens and pathogens
  • Collect product samples and temperature readings
  • Report and investigate food safety issues and customer complaints
  • Review production records for accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain documentation and support production teams on quality issues
  • Participate in shift change meetings and support food safety programs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Associate's/Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of food safety programs and regulations
  • HACCP and PCQI certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Basic analytical testing skills and equipment proficiency
  • Ability to read SOPs, work instructions, GMPs, and safety instructions
  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work varied shifts
