Job summary

The Mennel Milling Company in Toledo, OH is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician I to help ensure our products meet internal and external quality specifications and support our food safety programs. You will perform routine testing and document results.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; degrees in relevant fields are preferred. You will calibrate equipment, maintain logs, and help ensure GMPs, HACCP, and FDA standards are followed, while maintaining an audit-ready

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in cereal science, food science, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, analytical instrumentation, microbiology, or related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
• Ability to learn and perform routine laboratory testing and document results.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Internet, and company software systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and adapt to changing work duties and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine testing and accurately analyze samples for internal and external customers.
• Report testing results and promptly communicate quality, safety, and security concerns to the appropriate team members and Quality Assurance Manager.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot testing equipment while maintaining accurate calibration logs.
• Perform monthly intra-laboratory check samples to support testing accuracy and consistency.
• Follow all food safety and personal safety requirements, including GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, GFSI, and FDA Food Safety Modernization Act standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work area while completing assigned sanitation duties.
