Job summary

Intralox, L.L.C. Quality Department is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to be on-site at our Hammond, LA facility. The role will support Make-to-Stock and Assembly Line Operations with potential overtime and weekend work as needed.

The incumbent will perform inspections, document non-conformances, support investigations, and drive root-cause and corrective actions while using quality tools and calibrated equipment to ensure product quality across manufacturing areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of work experience in a manufacturing quality environment or plastics injection molding.
• Proficiency in basic computer software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to render data-driven disposition decisions for non-conforming product.
• Awareness of calibration and metrology concepts is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections and capture inspection data using quality tools.
• Interpret specifications and tolerances on quality drawings during inspections.
• Lead documentation of non-conformances and containment of non-conforming product.
• Support and/or lead quality investigations with data collection.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and critical success factors.
• Lead root cause and corrective action efforts with Production.
• Use data and quality tools to make disposition decisions for non-conforming product.
• Execute audits plant-wide as part of the technical audit program.
• Maintain and update product specifications and documentation.
• Provide urgent support to production and elevate issues when needed.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the quality training program.

Responsibilities

• Perform required visual and dimensional inspections while utilizing quality tools and equipment to capture inspection data

• Use data, standards, and necessary quality tools to make consistent and principle-based decisions, such as when providing a disposition for non-conforming product
• Utilize technical audit program by performing audits plant-wide
• Initiate and support the setting and updating of product specifications
• Manage and improve documentation of processes and procedures
• Provide urgent support to production and effectively elevate issues when needed
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the quality training program
• Maintain equipment calibration and calibration logs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher education in a technical field (fields of mechanics, information technology, mathematics, science, etc.) or 2+ years of work experience in a manufacturing quality environment or plastics injection molding
• Proficiency in basic computer software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic understanding of measurement systems and tools
• Passion for learning and growth with ability to manage own tasks and meet goals and objectives with little supervision
• Demonstration of sense of urgency and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent listening and communication skills, with strong ability to seek buy in on all levels
