This position is a key entry-level role within our manufacturing facility, producing quality food products. Ensures products meet customer specifications through established testing methods and works to reduce variability around these targets.
Additional Compensation and Requirements
- Additional $1.50/hr shift differential for hours worked between 6PM-6AM.
- Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work.
Responsibilities
- Performs product tests, taste tests, ingredient checks, and logs results.
- Conducts audits of products, collects samples, and checks raw materials and finished products.
- Communicates with key personnel regarding ingredient and product status; maintains raw material specifications.
- Manages raw ingredients, prepares hold reports, and informs relevant personnel about items on hold.
- Completes daily data entry, paperwork, and reports.
- Evaluates hazards and verifies safety measures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Ensures compliance with GMP, PPE, SOP, HACCP, and OSHA regulations daily.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of quality experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals.
- Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and data interpretation.
- Reasoning skills to follow instructions and solve problems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read work documents in English.
- Focus on safety and understanding of plant quality requirements.
- Knowledge of GMPs, good attendance, and work history.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, odors, noise, vibration, and seasonal weather conditions.
- Physical risks from machinery, chemicals, electrical hazards, etc.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks regularly.
- Use of PPE provided by the company.
