Job summary

West Liberty Foods is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for the 2nd shift in Bolingbrook, IL to inspect and monitor processes and products, ensuring the highest quality standards.

The role conducts routine quality checks, audits processes, monitors temperatures and packaging, and supports production teams to resolve quality issues while adhering to GMP and HACCP practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a related role preferred.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships available.
  • HACCP certification preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Basic computer skills including Google Suite; problem solving; dependable; team player; good customer service; able to work with limited supervision.
  • Overtime and weekends as needed; fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular quality checks.
  • Inspect and monitor processes and products.
  • Complete pre-op on lines for cleanliness and document results.
  • Audit processes using specifications.
  • Monitor meat quality and complete QA paperwork.
  • Verify codes and dates for accuracy.
  • Check packaging and labeling for quality issues.
  • Ensure GMP practices by team members.
  • Monitor product temperatures.
  • Perform housekeeping checks.
  • Retain products when needed and document QA holds.
  • Assist production with quality issues.
  • Collect finished products for shelf life program.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for inspecting and monitoring processes and products to ensure that the quality of product is of the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete regular quality checks.
  • Inspect and monitor processes and products.
  • Conduct pre-op on the lines for cleanliness of equipment and surrounding area and complete pre-op documentation.
  • Audit process by using specifications.
  • Monitor meat quality and complete AQL paperwork.
  • Monitor code dates to assure proper dates are being used.
  • Monitor packaging and labeling for quality issues.
  • Monitor team members for Good Manufacturing Procedures.
  • Monitor temperatures of products.
  • Conduct housekeeping checks.
  • Retain product when needed, tag product, complete QA Hold Forms and document.
  • Assist production with quality issues.
  • Collect finished products for the shelf life program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related role/field is preferred. Food manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Age: Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships are available.
  • Certification: HACCP certification is preferred.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Physical: Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills including Google Suite products. Ability to problem solve. Must be dependable and be able to work well with others. Requires good customer service skills. Must be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment of continuous change and challenges.
  • Compliance: Must practice good personal hygiene. Candidates must successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen, physical and E-Verify.
