Jtekt Na in Piedmont, SC is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for 1st shift (7am–3:30pm) to support manufacturing operations and uphold policies and procedures related to successful production.

You will perform component and assembly measurements, heat treat inspection, weld testing, and receiving inspection as needed, while helping with nonconformances and 5S activities in a safety-conscious environment enforcing IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience with metrology, gage calibration, and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IATF quality systems and 5S.

Responsibilities

  • Perform measurements of components and assemblies.
  • Perform heat treat inspection including cutting, mounting, polishing and hardness testing.
  • Perform weld testing/inspection.
  • Performs receiving inspection when needed.
  • Assist in problem solving for nonconformances.
  • Conduct basic PM and cleaning (5S) duties.
  • Others duties as assigned by management.

Quality Assurance Technician - 1st shift (7am - 3:30pm)

Summary/Purpose

The quality assurance technician will support manufacturing and follow policies and procedures related to successful operations.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.

  • Perform measurements of components and assemblies
  • Perform heat treat inspection including cutting, mounting, polishing and hardness testing
  • Perform weld testing/inspection
  • Performs receiving inspection when needed
  • Assist in problem solving for nonconformances
  • Conduct basic PM and cleaning (5S) duties
  • Others duties as assigned by management
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Metrology and gage calibration experience
  • Metallurgy basics and heat treat testing
  • Problems solving capabilities (especially related to manufacturing)
  • Knowledge of GD&T and SPC
  • Product and performance testing
  • Willing/able to learn to operate and maintain various equipment at an acceptable level with an emphasis on quality, IATF 16949 standard, ISO 14001, safety/environmental, 5S and productivity
  • Ability to understand and demonstrate standard work and support company policy
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work in a team environmental and be flexible
Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
