Job summary

AMETEK is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to ensure non-conforming components are quarantined and documented, and to disposition nonconforming materials for both supplied items and customer returns.

You will inspect and qualify products using defined procedures, read blueprints with ANSI Y14.5, and perform NDT/Destructive testing as required, while collaborating across departments to resolve issues and maintain safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Requires measuring and evaluating gears and gear forms.
  • Ability to read blueprints and ANSI Y14.5 symbols.
  • Experience using inspection equipment including micrometers and calipers.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office; Oracle experience a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Must lift 20–50 lbs occasionally, 10–25 lbs frequently.
  • Willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections on products to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Confirm accompanying documentation meets requirements.
  • Conduct roving shop floor inspections as needed.
  • Perform NDT and destructive testing as required in process and upon receipt.
  • Communicate non-conformances and collaborate on resolutions.
  • Complete assigned audits as scheduled.
  • Document non-conformances in logs and reports.
  • Follow safety requirements and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Job description

As the Quality Assurance Technician, you will ensure non-conforming components are quarantined as required by documented procedures. You will assign notification/corrective action requirements and follow through to completion and will also be responsible for ensuring all nonconforming materials are accurately documented and dispositioned as required for both Supplied items and Customer returns. You will also inspect and qualify products based on inspection methods, procedures, and processes.

What You Will Do
  • Perform inspections on all products and components manufactured in-house or from outside suppliers to ensure conformance to business specifications
  • Confirm that accompanying documentation meets requirements
  • Perform roving shop floor inspections as needed or required
  • Perform Non-Destructive Testing and Destructive Testing as required in process and upon receipt
  • Communicate non-conformances to applicable departments and collaborate on resolutions
  • Complete assigned audits as assigned or scheduled
  • Document common cause non-conformances into reject logs and applicable reports
  • Work in a safe manner following safety requirements, protocols, and procedures
  • Perform all other duties as directed or required
What We Are Looking For
  • High School diploma or GED required; Technical degree or Associates preferred
  • 5-10 years related experience; or combination of education and experience
  • Experience in measuring and evaluating gears and gear forms
  • Ability to use all common inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, video inspection systems, comparator, and pin and thread gauges
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, including the definitions of ANSI Y14.5 (GD&T) symbols and their relationships
  • Must be comfortable using various software programs including Microsoft Office; Oracle experience a plus
  • Strong communication and organizational skills a must
  • Ability to work as both an individual contributor and in a team environment
  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly
  • Must have good manual dexterity and visual acuity
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
Compensation

Employee Type: Exception Hourly

Currency: USD

Salary Minimum: 50,000

Salary Maximum: 75,000
