Job summary

Retech Systems Llc is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support the manufacturing and engineering teams in identifying issues, driving resolutions, and ensuring products meet customer specifications.

You will promote the Quality Management System across the organization, diagnose production issues, manage NCRs, perform root cause analyses, and collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to improve product quality and process validations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree a plus.
  • Minimum of three years in a similar QA role.
  • Industrial manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and promotes the Quality Management System across the company.
  • Diagnoses production issues and facilitates cross-functional resolutions.
  • Owns the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) system and drives corrective actions.
  • Identifies root causes and communicates with inspection, production, procurement, engineering and vendors.
  • Performs failure evaluations and implements corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
  • Supports supplier quality through vendor audits and on-site inspections.
  • Maintains metrics and scorecards for internal and supplier quality.
  • Collaborates with contract manufacturers on product transfers and process validations.
  • Reviews and authors documents to define requirements and functions of products.
  • Ensures products meet Retech and customer quality requirements.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends and prevent recurrence of defects.
  • Conducts internal audits as assigned by Quality Manager.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Description

The Quality Assurance Technician will support the manufacturing and engineering teams by identifying issues and trends, facilitating resolutions, collaborating on improvement processes, and ensuring products meet customer specifications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • / Supports and promotes the Quality Management System across the entire company.
  • / Supports the operations team by diagnosing emergent production issues and working with cross functional teams to facilitate resolutions. Performs product and receiving inspections as necessary.
  • / Owns and manages the Non-Conformance Report system (NCR).
  • / Identifies root causes, corrective actions, etc. and communicates with inspection, production, procurement, engineering and vendors to keep the process moving.
  • / Performs failure evaluations, determines root cause, and implements corrective action often working with cross functional teams.
  • / Supports supplier quality by performing vendor audits, on-site inspections, and assisting in resolving manufacturing issues as needed.
  • / Assists with developing and maintaining metrics and scorecards of internal and supplier quality.
  • / Work closely with contract manufacturers on product transfers and process validations, help define in-line inspection points to improve product quality, and author product quality plans as needed.
  • / Reviews and authors documents, including but not limited to design plans, process procedures, and quality procedures to define the scope, requirements, and function of products.
  • / Ensure products meet both Retech and our customers' quality and product integrity requirements.
  • / Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
  • / Performs internal audits assigned by the Quality Manager.
  • / Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • / Extensive knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the organization's production processes.
  • / Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support.
  • / Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • / Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • / Experience with Epicor is a plus.
Education and Experience:
  • / A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • / A minimum of three years in a similar role is required.
  • / Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • / Machinist or fabrication background (CNC machining, tolerancing, or shop floor experience) is a strong plus
  • / Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems

  • / The Quality Assurance Technician may be required to travel up to 10-20% for day trips to vendors with potential for an overnight stay.
