Job summary

Sukup Manufacturing Co. is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure products meet company and customer quality standards through in-process and final inspections, testing, and documentation.

You will work with production, engineering, and quality teams, read engineering drawings, use calipers and gauges, and participate in CAPA and audits; familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 is a plus.

Qualifications

• Technical certificate or associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in a quality control or inspection role in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in the use of standard inspection tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and basic statistical process control (SPC).
• Strong attention to detail, record-keeping, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with quality software, ERP systems, or CMMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-process and final inspections of manufactured parts/products using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
• Perform quality tests and checks according to control plans, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Monitor production processes and ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
• Identify, document, and report non-conforming products or processes; assist in containment and corrective action efforts.
• Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain accurate inspection and test records using manual logs or digital quality systems.
• Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in internal and external audits (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and help prepare necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve product quality and reduce scrap or rework.
