Job summary

Flagship Aerospace and Orthopedic Metals Plant within Precision Castparts Corp. seeks a Quality Technician to address complex quality issues and lead OTJ training initiatives.

You will compile data, generate reports, update databases, and coordinate with internal and external groups to meet strategic goals. Responsibilities include developing training outlines, auditing training effectiveness, maintaining records, and supporting continuous improvement efforts across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Company 6-S initiatives and policies.
  • Maintain and enhance employee job requirements as necessary to meet changing manufacturing and customer demands.
  • Develop and maintain structured On-The-Job (OTJ) training outlines.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training through verification audits, and make changes as required to meet objectives.
  • Oversee the maintenance of employee training records.
  • Participate in the specification review process, including reviewing current standards, resources, and communication for customer acceptance.
  • Partners with Commercial and Technical departments to deliver professional, accurate responses to customer complaints, issues, and questions as necessary.
  • Participates in or leads Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Plans and participates in Quality Audits as required.
  • Assists in the execution of C-M’s Quality Management System.
  • Loads, edits, and assigns complaint desk tickets – internal and external corrective actions.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of complaint desk tickets – internal and external corrective actions through verification audits.
  • Partner with Department Managers / Supervisors to update company documents and train on how to use company databases.
  • Partner with groups and other departments to meet company goals and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Quality Technician Summary

The Quality Technician is responsible for addressing quality-related issues of a technical nature posed by Manufacturing, Technical, and Commercial staff as well as by external customers, with an emphasis on developing and overseeing training activities for all personnel. Compilation of data, generation of reports, updating of databases, and working closely with internal and external groups to meet strategic objectives is also required.

Education and experience - Required

  • Two-year Technical Degree, or in lieu of a degree, High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent with two to five (2–5) years of experience in a Quality Assurance, Training, or Auditing role in a manufacturing environment .
  • High degree of computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to allow effective transfer of information to both internal and external customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maintain a positive attitude and work to maintain positive relationships with co-workers and others outside the organization.
  • Ability to set goals and objectives and takes responsibility to achieve these in a timely manner.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with personnel at all organizational levels.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Office: Must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position. Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Occasionally required to perform work in a manufacturing setting, occasional exposure to high noise level and heat.
