Carnivore Snax is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support daily QA tasks on the plant floor in Lewis Center, OH. The role handles tallow collection, product inspection, and disposition while maintaining documentation for certifications.

This entry-level position offers two shifts (Fri-Mon 4am-10am or Tue-Fri 4am-10am) with base pay of $18.00/hour. Associated duties include audits, logs, and cross-department collaboration to ensure GMP and SQF/USDA readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a food manufacturing or meat production setting.
• Familiar with HACCP, GMP, USDA and SQF requirements or willingness to be trained.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and quality.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook; QA software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collect tallow and stage it for processing per procedures.
• Inspect trays and determine disposition against quality standards.
• Hold questionable product for escalation by QA leadership.
• Advance compliant product to the next stage of production.
• Perform routine QC on raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
• Document deviations, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, logs, and reports.
• Collaborate with production to ensure GMP and food safety compliance.
• Assist with internal and third-party audits (SQF/USDA).
• Support cross-department tasks and special projects as needed.

Quality Assurance Technician plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day QA functions on the production floor. This entry level position is responsible for tallow collection, tray-by-tray product inspection and dispostion as well as maintaining the documentation required for certification readiness and compliance. There are 2 available shifts for this role: Friday through Monday 4am-10am and Tuesday through Friday 4am -10am. Availability can be discussed during the interview.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collect tallow and stage it for processing in accordance with company procedures.
• Inspect each tray of product and determine disposition based on established quality standards.
• Place any product that is questionable or does not clearly meet quality standards onto the designated hold rack for escalated review and further disposition by senior QC or Quality leadership.
• Advance product that meets quality standards forward to the salt team for the next stage of production.
• Perform routine quality control checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Document and report quality deviations, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, logs, and reports for quality inspections, sanitation, and
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure food safety protocols and GMPs are followed.
• Support internal audits and assist with third-party audits, including those required for SQF and USDA certification.
• Other duties as assigned including cross-department support, participation in training sessions, assistance with special projects and coverage of other quality tasks

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing or meat production environment, preferred.
• Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, USDA, and SQF requirements, or willingness to be trained.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and quality assurance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with QA software systems is a
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work in cold or humid environments as needed.
• Able to stand and remain on feet for extended periods during the shift
