Description
The Production Materials Coordinator will be responsible for staging raw meat and packaging materials required for the next production day. This will ensure inventory records remain accurate and departments start each day with exactly what the plan requires. There are 2 available shifts for this role: Monday through Friday 5am-10am and Saturday/Sunday/Monday 5am-1:30pm. Availability can be discussed during the interview.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Raw Meat Staging (Prep Department)
- Review the next day production plan and identify the raw meat types, cut codes and quantities required by the Prep department
- Pull raw meat from cooler/freezer storage following first in/first out (FIFO) protocol
- Stage raw meat onto pallets by production run, clearly labeled with product, lot/date, quantity and the scheduled production day
- Verify pulled quantities against the production plan before staging is considered complete
- Maintain cold chain requirements at all times
- Pull and stage pouches, oxygen absorbers, labels and other packaging components required for the next production day per the plan
- Kit materials by SKU/run to ensure the Packing Department can start production without delay
- Follow FIFO protocol on all packaging materials, rotating stock by receipt date
- Confirm counts of pouches and oxygen absorbers against the plan quantities
Inventory System Transactions
- Issue all staged raw meat and packaging materials from the inventory system (Odoo) so quantities match
- Ensure the correct lot/serial numbers are entered and record and report discrepencies
Inventory Counts & Housekeeping
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory counts as needed
- Keep staging areas, coolers and material storage organized, labeled and audit-ready
- Follow all food safety, GMP, allergen and sanitation requirements applicable to the work area
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse, materials handling or food manufacturing environment preferred
- Working knowledge of FIFO inventory rotation
- Experience with inventory systems (Odoo preferred) or ability to learn quickly
- Ability to read and work from a production plan and accurately count/verify quantities
- Pallet jack experience required
- Forklift certiication a plus (or willingness to be certified)
- Basic math skills required
- Strong communication with Prep, Packaging and Inventory teams
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for the duration of the shift
- Ability to work in an environment of varying temperatures
