Job summary

Producers Dairy is seeking a laboratory associate to perform microbiological testing on raw materials, in‑process samples, and finished products. The role enforces GLP and QA standards while supporting environmental and water quality monitoring programs.

You will coordinate with third‑party labs and maintain documentation per SQF requirements. A high school diploma and 2–3 years in a food lab are required, with antibiotic testing knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a food laboratory environment.
• Knowledgeable of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP’s).
• Strong understanding of microbiology with experience in microbiological testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing for raw materials, work in process, and finished products including SPC, PI, TPC, Coliform, and Yeast/Mold.
• Ensure compliance with antibiotic testing of all incoming raw milk.
• Provide summary reports to QA Manager and coordinate with third‑party laboratories as needed.

• Owning and promoting a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
• Microbiological testing as appropriate for raw materials, work in process, and finished products including: SPC, PI, TPC, Coliform, and Yeast/Mold.
• Ensure compliance with antibiotic testing of all incoming raw milk.
• Sensory evaluation of products during and at end of Shelf-Life.
• Air quality monitoring within the facility.
• Water quality monitoring within the facility for Coliform and TPC.
• Environmental pathogen swabbing within the facility.
• Allergen testing of equipment and products where appropriate.
• Maintain proper inventory of all laboratory items and supplies. Order supplies as needed.
• Maintain all proper documentation and records associated with responsibilities.
• Coordinate with third-party laboratories as appropriate for sampling and testing necessary
• Provide summary reports to Quality Assurance Manager of testing and monitoring activities.
• Maintain all documented information as per SQF requirements.
• Maintain laboratory as needed with regular cleaning.
• Must follow all proper Good Manufacturing Practices.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Minimum:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a food laboratory environment
• Knowledgeable of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP’s)
• Strong understanding of microbiology (experience with microbiological testing preferred).
• Sensory experience
• Troubleshoot and repair lab equipment, as necessary.

Preferred:

• FDA Appendix N Antibiotic Trained
• HACCP
• Good Laboratory Practices including Aseptic Sampling Techniques Trained

Hourly Range : $25.42 - $28.25
