Job summary

Sazerac Company is seeking a QA Technician to ensure our products meet quality, safety, and consistency standards from ingredients to finished goods. You will test, audit, and inspect while collaborating with production teams to address issues and drive improvements.

The role requires attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with responsibilities across testing, documentation, and compliance with GMPs and food safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in quality assurance, quality control, laboratory, food and beverage manufacturing, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately perform testing, interpret results, and complete quality documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate quality concerns effectively and work collaboratively with production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Test incoming ingredients, work-in-process materials, and finished products to verify they meet established quality specifications.
  • Conduct quality audits and inspections throughout the manufacturing process while accurately documenting results and identifying potential quality concerns.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to frontline team members on quality results, procedures, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in and lead problem-solving activities related to quality issues, non-conforming products, and process performance.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and support compliance with company standards, GMPs, food safety requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Job Description/Responsibilities

As a QA Technician, you'll help ensure our products meet the highest standards for quality, safety, and consistency from incoming ingredients through finished product. You'll perform testing, quality audits, and inspections while working closely with production teams to identify and address quality issues. This role is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys problem solving, and takes pride in making sure products are made right every time.

Shift:

Shift C works Thursday - Saturday, (6:00AM – 6:00PM) and Wed (12:00PM – 6:00PM).

What You’ll Do

Qualifications/Requirements
Required
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in quality assurance, quality control, laboratory, food and beverage manufacturing, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately perform testing, interpret results, and complete quality documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate quality concerns effectively and work collaboratively with production teams.
Preferred
  • Associate degree, technical training, or coursework in food science, chemistry, biology, microbiology, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • Experience performing quality testing, audits, inspections, or laboratory procedures in a food, beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or alcohol beverage environment.
  • Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, FDA or TTB requirements, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, or other continuous improvement practices.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and safely handle product samples, ingredients, and testing materials.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, and move between laboratory, production, and warehouse areas.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, wet or humid conditions, varying temperatures, and moving equipment.
