Job summary

Catalina Snacks is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead the 2nd shift on the production floor, ensuring food safety, QA documentation, and regulatory compliance. You will supervise the on-shift QA Technician, drive continuous improvement, and partner with the QA Manager to uphold SQF standards in a fast-paced facility in Lebanon, IN.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in food manufacturing quality, strong leadership and problem-solving, and proficiency with GMP, HACCP, FDA and SQF

Qualifications

• 5+ years in food manufacturing quality; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage teams.
• Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulatory compliance (HACCP, GMP, FDA, SQF).
• High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Physically capable of standing and walking in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor the on-shift QA Technician, providing direction and growth.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality processes for compliance and consistency.
• Lead and document the internal quality hold process with timely communication.
• Ensure QA, sanitation, and production records are properly documented in QMS.
• Oversee ingredient and finished product testing per established protocols.
• Support QA Manager in CAPAs documentation.
• Conduct GMP and facility audits during the shift for compliance.
• Act as contact for internal/external documentation requests during working hours.
• Assist in maintaining internal SQF standards and customer requirements.
• Serve as backup for QA Technician during absences.
• Train staff on One Point Lessons, SOPs, and Playbooks.
• Perform other duties to support department objectives.

About The Role

The Quality Assurance Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining food safety and quality standards in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This position ensures regulatory compliance and supports overall production goals by leading quality control efforts on the production floor. Key responsibilities include supervising the 1st shift QA Technician, conducting audits and inspections, ensuring proper documentation of QA, Sanitation, and Production processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to build a strong safety and quality culture. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently while supporting the Quality Assurance Manager and driving continuous improvement in food safety and quality programs.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor the on-shift QA Technician, providing direction, support, and fostering professional development.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality processes and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency across operations.
• Lead and document the internal quality hold process, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
• Ensure accurate documentation within Quality Management Systems (QMS) for quality, sanitation, and production records.
• Oversee ingredients and finished product testing in accordance with established protocols.
• Support the QA Manager in initiating and documenting CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Action plans).
• Conduct GMP and facility audits during the shift to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Act as the point of contact for internal and external documentation requests during scheduled working hours.
• Assist the QA Manager in maintaining internal SQF standards and customer-specific requirements.
• Serve as backup for the QA Technician, stepping in during absences or operational needs.
• Train employees on One Point Lessons, SOPs, and Playbooks as necessary to support ongoing learning and compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as business needs dictate.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
