Job summary

Jetseal, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead daily inspection and shop-floor quality activities.

You will convert quality-system priorities into staffing, assignments, and training, while ensuring documentation and timely escalation. The role provides formal people leadership to QA Lead, Inspectors I–III, and QA Technicians and partners across departments to protect product conformity and delivery commitments.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive quality inspection or manufacturing-quality experience, including 2+ years in a lead/supervisory role.
• Experience directing daily work, developing employees, addressing performance, and maintaining coverage in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
• Advanced ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, travelers, inspection plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Proficiency with precision inspection methods and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical measurement systems, and coordinate measuring machines.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001, first article inspection, calibration, nonconformance control, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily QA inspections and staffing across shifts based on production priorities.
• Supervise QA Lead, Inspectors I–III, and Technicians; onboard, train, and manage performance.
• Ensure inspections follow drawings, specs, travelers, and acceptance criteria; review records before release.
• Serve as primary shop-floor escalation for nonconforming product; coordinate containment and routing.
• Support root-cause investigations, CAPAs, customer escapes, audits, and effectiveness verification.
• Ensure personnel are qualified and inspection equipment is calibrated, maintained, and used correctly.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing and Engineering on priorities and recurring defects.
• Monitor backlog, turnaround time, first-pass yield, rework, and training status; initiate recovery actions.
• Lead inspection team communications.
• Support audits and sustainment of AS9100, NADCAP, and customer/internal requirements.
• Provide hands-on support for complex inspections while supervising the function.
• Elevate significant risks to the Quality Manager with containment or recovery actions.

Job description

The Quality Assurance Supervisor, reporting to the Quality Manager, leads daily inspection and shop-floor quality activities. The position converts quality-system and business priorities into staffing, work assignments, training, inspection readiness, documentation, and timely escalation. The Supervisor provides formal people leadership to the Quality Assurance Lead, QA Inspectors I–III, and Quality Technician and partners across departments to protect product conformity, customer requirements, and delivery commitments.

Essential functions

• Supervise, schedule, and balance inspection resources across shifts and work areas based on production priorities, inspection backlog, employee capability, and customer commitments.
• Lead the Quality Assurance Lead, QA Inspectors I–III, and Quality Technician through selection, onboarding, qualification, cross-training, performance feedback, attendance management, and accountability for results.
• Ensure receiving, first-piece, in-process, final, and special inspections follow approved drawings, specifications, travelers, inspection plans, and customer requirements; review acceptance records and first article documentation before release.
• Serve as the primary shop-floor escalation point for questionable or nonconforming product and coordinate identification, containment, segregation, documentation, and routing through the material review process.
• Support root‑cause investigations, corrective and preventive actions, customer escapes, audit findings, and effectiveness verification under the direction of the Quality Manager.
• Ensure personnel are qualified and inspection equipment is available, calibrated, maintained, and used correctly, including hand tools, optical systems, CMMs, and applicable destructive‑test equipment.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing and Engineering on inspection priorities, drawing or tolerance questions, process issues, and recurring defects without compromising independent acceptance decisions.
• Monitor and communicate inspection backlog, turnaround time, first‑pass yield, rework, nonconformance, training status, and other assigned quality metrics; initiate recovery actions when performance is off plan.
• Lead inspection team communications.
• Support audits and sustainment of AS9100, NADCAP, customer, and internal requirements.
• Provide hands‑on technical support for complex or priority inspections when needed while maintaining primary responsibility for supervision, planning, coaching, and control of the inspection function.
• Promptly elevate significant product, process, capacity, personnel, or compliance risks to the Quality Manager with recommended containment or recovery actions.

Required education and experience

• Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001, first article inspection, calibration, nonconformance control, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action.

Preferred education and experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in quality, engineering, manufacturing, operations, or a related field.
• ERP software (Epicor or similar) and Quality Management-Document Control System experience.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience with AS9102 and NADCAP or other special-process requirements.
• ASQ certification and experience with CMM programming, Keyence or MicroVu systems, and ERP/QMS applications.

Pay Range $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 / hour
