Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Staff Engineer to join our dynamic team at Effodio Inc. In this role, you will take ownership of ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by driving rigorous automated testing and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams—including developers, product managers, sales engineers, and others—to identify and resolve issues, implement best practices, and shape the overall quality strategy.

A key aspect of this position is contributing to the development of our automated testing infrastructure. You’ll leverage your technical expertise to write code and build robust systems that streamline our QA processes. This role places a strong emphasis on automation over manual testing, aiming to enhance efficiency and maintain high product standards.

What You'll Do

• Automation Integration: Design, develop, and implement automated test strategies—writing code to ensure comprehensive test coverage and seamless integration into the CI/CD pipeline from the early stages of development.
• Tool Enhancement: Enhance and advance existing QA tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness in automated testing.
• Tracking and Management: Identify, document, and track prioritization with Product and Engineering.
• Collaboration: Partner with development teams to understand features, write test code, and implement automated strategies that ensure high-quality releases.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to less-experienced QA engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Coach software engineers on quality ownership and automation patterns.
• Reporting: Generate detailed test reports and metrics to communicate the status of testing efforts and product quality to stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in QA and automated testing, and continuously improve QA processes and tools.
• Team Building: Look for opportunities to build out your own team under your leadership, ensuring the growth and scalability of the QA team.

What You Bring

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role. Proven experience in developing test automation for cloud products and end-to-end testing.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, Selenium, or similar. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Github, Jenkins, GitLab, or others. Proven experience building test automation frameworks.
• Methodologies: Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Compensation

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, and experience. Compensation includes salary, stock, and discretionary bonus.
