in Waukegan, IL is seeking a full-time Quality Assurance Specialist to support the quality management system across the company. You will review non-conformances, manage corrective actions, track quality trends, and assist in ISO 9001 activities while coordinating with engineering and production teams. Requirements include 5+ years of QA in metal or plastic manufacturing, strong measurement tool proficiency, and the ability to read engineering blueprints.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret engineering blueprints and documentation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word software.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of QA experience in metal or plastic manufacturing.

Responsabilités

• Review, track, analyze and report all non-conformances.
• Maintain internal/external corrective action database.
• Track, monitor and report quality trends.
• Assist in maintaining the QC hold area and generate rework instructions.
• Work with supervisors, engineering and QA to resolve quality issues and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Create and manage inspection plans/database with engineering and print drawings/reports for work orders.
• Maintain controlled document changes related to the ISO intranet and assist ISO 9001 certification.

About this position

Description: A.L. Hansen Mfg. Co., an ISO 9001 certified company, is a leading manufacturer in the commercial hardware industry located in Waukegan, IL is currently seeking a full time Quality Assurance Specialist.

Work with internal departments, performing a variety of activities that support the quality management system ensuring customer, supplier and company quality requirements are met. Maintain, monitor and report on quality KPIs across the company.

• Review, track, analyze and report all non-conformances.
• Maintain internal/external corrective action database.
• Track, monitor and report quality trends.
• Assist in maintaining and organizing the QC hold area.
• Assist department supervisors/manager to resolve any quality issues and assist in root cause analysis.
• Work with department supervisors/manager to generate rework orders/instructions.
• Work with engineering to create & maintain inspection plans/database.
• Create rework orders as needed from RGA and MRB.
• Maintain and facilitate controlled document changes as it relates to the ISO intranet.
• Assist maintaining ISO 9001 certification.
• Assist production control to print drawings and inspection reports for work orders.
• Liaise and communicate quality objectives across departments and the quality team.
• Work with quality management team to ensure our quality performance is in line with the company, customer and quality standards requirements.
• Effectively communicate with Manager (daily progress / any issues).
• Other duties as assigned

Required skills, licenses, knowledge, experience or abilities:

• Must have knowledge and skilled use of optical comparator, micrometers, calipers, height gauge, thread gauge, radius gauge, and pin gauge.
• Must have 2 years college/technical school with emphasis in Quality, Engineering or Industrial Technology. May substitute a combination of education and experience equivalent to ten years of industrial experience.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality within a metal or plastic manufacturing environment.
• Experience and ability to read and interpret Engineering blueprints and documentation.
• Experience with and knowledge of computers including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word software.
• Must have good written and oral communication skills.
