Job summary

The Mactac North America Troy, OH facility is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support Certificates of Conformance/Analysis, document control, and internal audits. This role provides lab support and collaborates across QA/Lab teams to ensure quality data and records accuracy.

Responsibilities include generating COC and COA, maintaining files, assisting with documentation reviews, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Office-based with potential for nonstandard shifts.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a similar role.
• Technical literacy in MS Excel; MS Word; Document Control systems.

Responsibilities

• Generate and distribute electronic Certificates of Conformance (COC) and Certificates of Analysis (COA).
• Maintain and process the document control system and records (manual/electronic).
• Assist internal audits and QA documentation reviews.
• Provide lab support as needed (Peels, Loop Tacks, Release, Shears, Rheology).
• Assist in development and implementation of standards for the quality dept.
• Travel to support other Mactac locations (<5% of the time).

Job description

The Quality Assurance Specialist reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for the daily requests, preparation, and distribution of product certifications. This includes electronic and manual generation and distribution of Certificates of Conformance (C of C) and Certificates of Analysis (C of A) for all Mactac products. This position assists with the maintenance and processing of the document control system including manual and electronic document control files/software, procedures, record retention, change control and training records. In addition, the position is responsible for supporting the internal auditing program, assisting in the document preparation and distribution of RDT trial and standard Mactac product specifications as needed. This support role includes assisting with other clerical duties and laboratory as required to assist the department.

Essential Functions

Maintains and executes requests for all product certifications, generates and maintains product specifications and files, assists with document control processing and any additional Quality and Lab support as listed:

• Generation and distribution of electronic Certificates of Conformance for Mactac products
• Generation and distribution of electronic Certificates of Analysis for Mactac products
• Generation, distribution and maintenance of all manual Certificate of Conformance (C of C) and Certificate of Analysis (C of A) files
• Assisting with new and revised document requests supporting Document Control
• Assisting with routing, tracking and facilitating documentation review, approval and periodic/biannual review
• Generation, distribution and retrieval of RDT specification files
• Participating and providing support for the Quality System during audits
• Assisting in the preparation and distribution of standard product specifications
• Assisting in the development and implementation of standards for the quality department
• Capable of investigating, selecting and implementing new software systems for Document Control and Quality data statistical analysis.
• Providing laboratory support as needed, Peels, Loop Tacks, Release, Shears and Rheology
• Some travel may be required for training and support to other Mactac locations
• Other duties may be assigned to assist in support of the Quality group
• Regular attendance is required

Experience

• Required Experience
  • Education: BS Degree in relevant scientific discipline preferred or equivalent experience level
  • Years in a similar role: Minimum 3 years
  • Technical:
    • Computer literate in MS Excel
    • Computer literate in MS Word (Intermediate/Expert skill level)
    • Computer literate in E2000 / transition to electronic Document Control System
  • Industry Experience: Prefer experience in pressure‑sensitive adhesive, label, film, or paper converting.

  • Office: Must be able to work different shifts, including weekends, if required. Computer skills required.
