Job summary

Horton, Inc. in Britton, SD is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist for a 1st shift, on-site position Monday–Friday. You will apply production process knowledge, math and statistics to develop QA measures, procedures and gauge maintenance.

Responsibilities include supporting continuous improvement, leading 8D corrective actions, audits under ISO/IATF systems, and developing FMEAs and control plans. Requires 2-year technical degree or 4+ years QA, US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Requires a 2-year technical degree or 4+ years of closely related quality assurance work experience.
• Demonstrate expertise in problem solving, identifying root causes and countermeasures.
• Ability to be self-directed and work independently or in teams.
• Experience with manufacturing processes for components.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship is available.

Responsibilities

• Supports continuous improvement projects and quality assignments.
• Works independently and in teams to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Develops measurements and inputs for Production Approval inspection.
• Supports ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 programs and leads internal audits.
• Leads corrective actions (8D) and root-cause analysis using 5 Whys.
• Develops and maintains Process Flow, FMEAs and Control Plans.
• Coordinates with suppliers and customers to meet requirements.
• Coordinates IMDS submissions.
• Reviews and submits supplier PPAPs and customer PPAP requirements.
• Collaborates with Design/Manufacturing Engineering in APQP.

Position Summary:

Using knowledge of the production process and math and statistics skills develops technical aspects of quality assurance, including standard measures and methods, training materials and gauge usage and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

Quality Assurance Specialist Responsibilities:

• Supports continuous improvement projects and quality assignments.
• Self-starter who is able to work both independently and together in teams while improving quality and reducing costs.
• Develop measurements and inputs for Production Approval inspection.
• Provides support to Horton's Environmental and Quality Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and IATF 16949) and leads internal audits.
• Lead corrective actions (i.e. 8D's), use three Legged 5 Why tool to determine root cause for customer complaints, audit findings, and internal and external product failures/defects.
• Lead in the development and maintenance of Process Flow, Process FMEAs, and Control Plans.
• Technical understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Works with suppliers and customers to meet customer requirements.
• Co-ordinates the International Material Data System (IMDS)
• Review/Submission customer specific PPAP requirements along with review supplier PPAP's.
• Works closely with Design/Manufacturing Engineering in APQP Process.

Qualifications

Quality Assurance Specialist Qualifications:

• Requires a 2-year technical degree or an equivalent of 4 or more years of closely related quality assurance work experience.
• Demonstrate an expertise in problem solving skills, including being able to identify, investigate and countermeasure manufacturing or supplier related technical and / or systemic issues.
• Possess the ability to be self-directed.
• Experience with manufacturing processes for components.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided now or in the future for this position.

Additional Information:

The estimated pay range for this position is $27.96 per hour plus bonus. Compensation will increase within the range based on experience and qualifications.
