Summary:

The QA Specialist is responsible for ensuring that products or services meet established quality standards and specifications by inspecting, testing, and verifying the quality of materials, components, and finished goods to maintain consistency and adherence to quality assurance protocols. The QA Specialist also works closely with the Product Manufacturing Groups and the Third-Party Logistics provider to ensure successful new product introduction, approval of changes to product specifications and standard operating procedures, investigation of customer complaints, and product recalls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that products or services meet established quality standards and specifications
  • Inspects and tests products or services at various stages of production or delivery.
  • Verifies that products meet specified quality standards, tolerances, and performance criteria.
  • Documents and reports defects, deviations, or non-conformities and suggest corrective actions.
  • Operates testing equipment and instruments, ensuring their accuracy and reliability.
  • Monitors and enforces compliance with quality control policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with production teams and other stakeholders to address quality issues.
  • Analyzes and interpret quality data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conducts visual inspections and measurements to check product dimensions and aesthetics.
  • Ensures that products or services comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of quality control processes and training programs.
  • Maintains regulatory and quality systems to ensure the division’s compliance with FDA regulations, Corporate RA/QA and divisional requirements.
  • Builds strong relationship with manufacturers, 3PL, and spoke warehouse personnel to implement successful change control system.
  • Monitoring/feedback of spoke warehouses
  • Facilitates continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives
  • Root cause analysis and risk assessment
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for processes owned by QA.
  • Recall support (SCI Reports)
  • Acts as a back-up contact prior to, during, and after any regulatory agency inspections.
  • Assists with corrective action process for all aspects of the CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Action).
  • Assists with Quality System/GMP training to comply with FDA requirements.
  • Maintains training metrics to ensure that FDA requirements are followed.
  • Assists with the planning of all internal GMP training.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some roles may require post-secondary education or industry-specific certifications.

Attention to Detail:

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.

QC Tools:

  • Proficiency in using quality control tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, or testing machines.

Problem-Solving:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret quality data and recommend improvements.

Communication:

  • Effective communication skills for reporting and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of industry-specific quality standards and regulations.

QC Software:

  • Familiarity with quality control software and data analysis tools.
