Job summary

U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist for the Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC). The role supports Weapon Quality Assurance (WQA) and Quality Management (QM) within mission assurance.

The ideal candidate will apply engineering principles to ensure products meet strict quality standards before acceptance. Specialized experience includes performing pre-production assessments, reviewing contractor training, and evaluating failure

Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NQ-1 or GS-7 in the Federal service.
• Use basic engineering principles of electrical, plastic, and mechanics to apply weapons quality assurance techniques.
• Use sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques to verify products meet requirements prior to acceptance.

• Evaluate contractor's failure analysis of equipment/product interfaces when malfunctions occur.

Job description

This position is part of the National Nuclear Security Administration, Office of Mission Assurance. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for contributing either individually or as a member of a team, a variety of technical and analytical support services pertaining to Weapon Quality Assurance (WQA) and Quality Management (QM) aspects of operations at the Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC).

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

NQ-02

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NQ-1 or GS-7 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as using basic engineering principles of electrical, plastic, and mechanics to apply weapons quality assurance techniques and using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques to verify that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance.
