Qualifications

  • Requires a BS degree or a HS/Tech certificate with many years of experience.
  • Experience conducting FAI and quality inspections on electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficient with ERP/MRP software and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct receiving inspection, coordinate repair, and acceptance, and document results.
  • Receive, initiate, and track repair orders.
  • Maintain a qualified spare parts inventory.
  • Provide status of corrective actions and prevent recurrence of nonconformance.
  • Lead communications with fleet operators on repair orders and status.
  • Coordinate internal quality audits and report QMS compliance.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to improve QA practices.
  • Maintain records of inspections, rework, and acceptance.
  • Implement inspection processes and standards.

Job Description:

NDTI has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Specialist to support operations at Point Mugu, CA. The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality, and compliance of electro-mechanical systems, components, and assemblies used in electronic warfare flight, ground and sea surface-based systems. This position implements quality systems and processes to ensure product performance meets design and regulatory requirements. The candidate collaborates with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to prevent defects, identify root causes, and drive continuous improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct receiving inspection, coordinate repair, and acceptance, and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Receive, initiate, and track repair orders.
  • Maintain a qualified spare parts inventory.
  • Provide status of internal and external corrective actions, ensure responses are adequate to prevent recurrence of nonconformance and report progress to management
  • Provide the lead communications with fleet operators regarding product repairs order status..
  • Function as primary liaison for various customers in order to resolve quality issues, ensure appropriate flow down of quality requirements, inspection requirements, acceptance criteria, communication, and ensure customer satisfaction,
  • Coordinate internal quality audits and report status of QMS compliance to management.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement quality assurance practices and procedures.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of inspections, rework, and acceptance of items received for acceptance
  • Implement inspection processes and standards.
Education and Work Experience Requirements:

Due to customer requirements, U.S Citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoW Security Clearance for duration of employment.

Requirements
  • Requires a BS degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience or a High School or Technical Certificate and a minimum of 8 years of experience. A Journeyman labor category typically performs all functional duties independently.
  • Experience in conducting FAI and quality inspections on prototype and production electro-mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and components.
  • Experience in the use of computer-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software systems.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills are necessary, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
  • This is a hands-on position that takes someone who can roll up their sleeves and solve critical issues in a timely manner.
  • The ideal candidate will be a strong problem-solver and self-starter.
Preferred Requirements
  • IPC Certified or other similar certification
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or other similar certification
  • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience are a plus.
  • ISO Internal Auditing is a plus.
Salary:

the expected pay range for this position is $108,160 to $135,200 but is subject to change.
