Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Agriculture, seeks a Quality Assurance and Safety Program Manager to lead statewide quality and safety programs across laboratories and inspection services. The role focuses on implementing a cohesive Quality Management System and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The position includes full-time hours with a typical 8:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule and a telework option up to 2 days per week; base responsibilities emphasize policy enforcement, SOP

Qualifications

• Two years as a Forensic Scientist 2 or Forensic DNA Scientist 2 at Commonwealth or federal level.
• Four years of professional laboratory experience with a relevant science degree and chemistry/microbiology credits.
• Active PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Design and guide a full Quality Management System that connects inspection practices with laboratory services
• Apply quality policies and procedures to ensure compliance with scientific and regulatory expectations
• Develop and unify Standard Operating Procedures across regions and laboratory groups
• Maintain document control and ensure proper handling, security, and organization of laboratory records
