Job summary

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily visual and dimensional cores source inspection checks at core vendors and SMP.
  • Verify parts are properly processed to the applicable procedures & SOPs.
  • Support core reclaim process by sorting, inspecting and reinstating reclaimed cores.
  • Read and interpret defects with reference to applicable Quality Engineering Instructions (QEI) and SOPs.
  • Maintain system for calibration of core inspection equipment.
  • Organize, report, and maintain records of source inspections.
  • Generate core batches in AQCS with every shipment.
  • Work with the Engineering and Quality team to investigate root cause on various core issues or defects.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (all shifts when necessary) and overtime when required.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co‑workers, and supervisors.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by supervision.
  • Assist with other Engineering tasks when required by Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree preferred.
  • Must be well‑organized and able to self‑direct daily activities.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read blueprints preferred.
  • Experience with measurement equipment preferred.
Requirements
  • Must be able to assume all above responsibilities with minimal or no training.
  • Meet or exceed defined Visual Acuity (when required).
  • Meet color perception standards needed in performance of job requirement (when required).
  • Additional training to comply with applicable SOP/Certifications (when required).
  • Reliable personal transportation.
