Job summary

OptoSigma Corporation in Costa Mesa, CA is looking for an entry-level Quality Assurance engineer to support quality activities across precision manufacturing. You will participate in inspection, documentation, and process control to build a foundation in quality systems.

You will perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections, assist CAPA investigations, track metrics, and collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in quality, inspection, or hands-on manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail with precision measurement and documentation.
• Able to read engineering drawings and learn GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality documentation including inspection plans and NCRs.
• Assist with CAPA investigations.
• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
• Support internal audits and ISO 9001 compliance.
• Track quality metrics and report trends.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to resolve issues.
• Maintain calibration records for inspection equipment.
• Support customer complaint investigations and RMAs.

About The Role

We're seeking an entry-level Quality Assurance team member to support quality activities across our precision manufacturing operations. This is a great opportunity for someone in their early career to build a strong foundation in inspection, documentation, and process control within a precision manufacturing environment. We're looking for someone who likes solving problems, improving products and designs. Ideal candidates are energetic and eager to jump into a wide variety of projects, bringing enthusiasm to solving new problems as they come up.

What You'll Do

• Support development and maintenance of quality documentation, including inspection plans, work instructions, and non‑conformance reports.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) investigations for quality issues.
• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of components and assemblies using standard measurement tools.
• Support internal audits and help maintain compliance with quality system requirements.
• Track and report quality metrics (yield, scrap, defect trends) to help identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
• Help maintain calibration records for inspection and measurement equipment.
• Support customer complaint investigations and process RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations) as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Entry‑level experience with quality, inspection, or a related hands‑on manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with precise measurements and documentation.
• Basic familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) or eagerness to learn.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and basic Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), or willingness to learn.
