About the Role

This critical role offers an opportunity for a seasoned FSQA professional to lead a dedicated team on the production floor, ensuring compliance with USDA and SQF standards while driving continuous improvement in product quality and sanitation. Key Responsibilities and Goals

• Lead and oversee the Food Safety & Quality Assurance team, including 6-8 QA Technicians.
• Ensure manufacturing operations comply with USDA‑FSIS, HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and SQF/BRC standards.
• Support plant operations in maintaining regulatory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to uphold quality and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement food safety policies and procedures.
• Work on the production floor approximately 85% of the time, with frequent Saturday and weekend scheduling.

Competencies Needed for Success

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or related field (preferred) OR equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety/quality within food manufacturing, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Hands‑on experience with HACCP, SQF, BRC, USDA‑FSIS regulations, GMPs, and SSOPs.
• Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred.
